Getting Started with Your Seekid

Welcome to Seekid.

Your telescope is designed to make exploring the sky and the world around you easier and more enjoyable for the whole family.

This guide covers the basic steps to help you get started.

Before You Begin

Before using your Seekid for the first time:

  • Remove all protective packaging and protective films;

  • Check that all included components and accessories are present;

  • Charge or connect the device as instructed in the product manual;

  • Assemble the telescope on a stable surface;

  • Familiarize yourself with the controls before nighttime use.

We recommend trying the telescope during daylight first by focusing on a distant stationary object.

This makes it much easier to learn how aiming and focusing work before observing the night sky.

Step 1 — Set Up the Telescope

Place the tripod on a flat, stable surface.

Attach the telescope securely and make sure all adjustment points are properly tightened without overtightening them.

For clearer viewing, avoid placing the telescope on unstable tables, soft surfaces, or locations where it may easily be bumped.

Step 2 — Power On the Display

Turn on your Seekid display and allow the system to start.

The built-in screen lets multiple family members view the image together without everyone needing to take turns looking through a traditional eyepiece.

Step 3 — Start With an Easy Target

For your first observation, choose a large, easy-to-find target.

During the day, try:

  • A distant building;

  • A tree;

  • A mountain;

  • A landscape feature; or

  • A stationary object far from your viewing position.

At night, the Moon is usually one of the easiest objects for beginners to locate and observe.

Step 4 — Adjust the Focus

Slowly adjust the focus until the image becomes clear.

If the image looks blurry, this does not necessarily mean the telescope or screen is defective.

Try:

  • Adjusting the focus slowly;

  • Selecting a more distant target;

  • Making sure the telescope is stable;

  • Checking that protective films or covers have been removed; and

  • Moving to an area with better viewing conditions.

Small adjustments can make a significant difference.

Step 5 — Take Photos and Videos

Seekid supports photo and video recording so you can save memorable discoveries.

Depending on your model and settings, the telescope supports:

Photos: up to 48MP
Video: up to 1080P at 30fps

For the clearest results:

  • Make sure the telescope is stable before recording;

  • Focus carefully before capturing the image;

  • Avoid touching or moving the telescope while recording;

  • Use suitable lighting and viewing conditions.

Actual image quality may vary depending on the target, lighting, atmospheric conditions, distance, stability, settings, and other environmental factors.

Exploring the Night Sky

For better nighttime viewing:

  • Begin with the Moon or another bright, easy-to-locate object;

  • Choose a location away from excessive artificial light when possible;

  • Allow your eyes time to adjust to darkness;

  • Avoid observing through a closed window, as glass can reduce image quality;

  • Give the telescope time to stabilize after moving between significantly different temperatures.

Atmospheric conditions can affect what you can see. Clouds, humidity, haze, light pollution, and atmospheric turbulence may reduce clarity.

Bird and Nature Watching

Seekid can also be used during the day to explore birds, landscapes, and distant outdoor subjects.

For a better experience:

  • Observe from a stable location;

  • Move and focus slowly;

  • Do not disturb wildlife;

  • Maintain a respectful distance from animals;

  • Avoid pointing the telescope toward private spaces where people reasonably expect privacy.

Important Safety Information

Never Look at the Sun

Never point the telescope at or near the Sun unless you are using appropriate solar-viewing equipment specifically designed and certified for that purpose.

Never look directly at the Sun through the telescope, optical components, camera system, or similar viewing equipment without appropriate solar protection.

Improper solar viewing may cause serious and permanent eye injury and may also damage the equipment.

Adult Supervision

Seekid products may be enjoyed by families and children, but appropriate adult supervision should be provided based on the child's age and ability.

Adults should assist children with:

  • Initial assembly;

  • Safe placement of the tripod;

  • Charging or electrical connections;

  • Outdoor nighttime use;

  • Storage and transportation; and

  • Understanding solar-viewing safety.

Keep the Telescope Stable

Place the telescope and tripod on a stable surface.

Do not allow children to climb on, hang from, or pull on the tripod.

Cleaning and Care

To help keep your Seekid in good condition:

  • Store it in a clean, dry location;

  • Keep lenses covered when not in use;

  • Avoid touching optical surfaces with your fingers;

  • Remove dust gently using appropriate optical-cleaning tools;

  • Do not use harsh household chemicals on optical components;

  • Protect electronic components from excessive moisture and heat;

  • Do not disassemble the product unless specifically instructed by Seekid support.
